Behringer VC340

Postby The Elf » Fri May 17, 2019 12:49 pm

It's here!

I'm in the middle of a load of upheaval at the moment, so I can't spend long with it, but...

I love it. The build seems solid (more solid than I would have expected) and the sound is spot on.

The octave-short keyboard pains me mightily, but it is what it is. That has simply to be forgiven, because other than that it's a stunner.

Nice. I’m guessing that it doesn’t suffer from the ‘octave issue’ that the Roland boutique thing had ..

It's very nice. Aside from the missing octave, I really like the feel of the keyboard (I know that's a very personal thing). Headphone output is only mono though, which is odd but doesn't bother me unduly as I rarely use onboard headphone outputs.

And no, it doesn't suffer from the octave thingie of the Roland Boutique. i.e. Behringer have done it properly :D

Now all I need is somebody to buy the old Korg Delta for a ridiculous price in order to pay for it :bouncy:

Octaves are just as they should be - the difference between Behringer embracing a true recreation and Roland doing the 'nah-nah-nah I can't hear you' thing... ;)

Yeah, the short keyboard does pain me. They went to all the trouble of recreating every aspect of the VP-330 just as it was, but then... I can't imagine the design meeting that came up with such a daft decision. :headbang:

I would rather it had no keyboard at all than this, but, as I said, it is what it is, and it's damned superb in all other respects.

Especially when you consider the sound generator only spans those four octaves, so why lop off that extra octave? Makes no sense to me. Hey ho, it is what it is.

Hurray!

I'm really enjoying mine, the main problem being not so much the length of the keyboard but the impact it's having on my string synth GAS...

Love the VC340!

Spent a bit of time prepping this song, thought it was ideal to highlight the VC340's lush strings

Just rustled up a VC340 version of one of my favourite intros, so thought I'd share, just for fun...
