Hi folks,
Yahoo has announced the following:
"All members please note.
Yahoo has made the decision to no longer allow users to upload content to the Yahoo Groups site. Beginning October 21, you won't be able to upload any more content to the site, and as of December 14 all previously posted content on the site will be permanently removed. You'll have until that date to save anything you've uploaded.

PLEASE COPY ANYTHING YOU NEED OFF THIS SITE NOW !"
This seems particularly insane, so if you belong to a synth or recording Yahoo group, get downloading those archives asap... :madas:

Thanks David -- really important to know about this. I've moved a duplicate post to the News forum and made it sticky to try and maximise its viewing!

Many thanks Hugh.
Some folks on the Yahoo groups are speculating that this may be the first step in closing down Yahoo altogether?
David.

Since Yahoo got taken over by BT (I don't know if there is still an association) it became a complete waste of time. That being said there seems to be a clutch of companies withdrawing services, some years ago Microsoft dropped the free 50 gig cloud space, I used to use UK2.NET for webmail which was an excellent product, only allowed 100meg of space but that forced me to tidy up my mailbox, then one day a few months ago they announced they were to shut it down - gone and I'd been using it for some 20 years.
