These audio examples accompany my review of Polyverse’s Filterverse plug-in in SOS April 2025.

There are four audio examples that illustrate the kinds of results that can be created, and they’re based around different types of audio source: a synth pad, an electronic drum loop, a clean funk guitar loop, and a sung vocal phrase (this has a drum loop sat underneath it for a little context, but the drum loop itself is not processed).

I want to stress that these examples barely scratch the surface of what the plug-in can do and are provided as a simple taster of the possibilities! Each one follows the same format, in that you first hear the unprocessed audio, and this is repeated a further six times with a different Filterverse preset applied in each case.

I’ve not tried to do anything too clever either — I’ve just selected presets that I thought did something both interesting and appropriate to the source. But if there is a pattern, it’s that for the last two repeats of each sound I’ve tended to select a more creative and/or extreme preset.

The presets are all used ‘as is’, by which I mean I’ve not edited any of them. It’s worth noting that for the vocal example, the first few repeats make use of some Filterverse presets that feature the ‘non-filter’ filters, such as reverb and delay. These give a brief taste for the more conventional processing possibilities the plug-in provides over and above the more creative filter options.

Finally, note that for all the examples, the only processing applied in each case is from Filterverse. No other plug-ins have been used.
