Valve mic with variable drive control

Back in September last year, we reviewed the Chameleon Labs TS1, a small‑diaphragm valve condenser mic. Now a MkII version has been announced, and Chameleon Labs say that this features newly designed valve electronics.
The power supply, for instance, has a voltage control for the valve, which allows the user to starve or overdrive the valve, to achieve varying degrees of saturation. Like the original, the TS1 MkII ships with a cardioid and omnidirectional capsule, while a hypercardioid and a large‑diaphragm capsule (switchable between omni and cardioid patterns) are available as optional extras.
