Keen synthesists and sound designers will be pleased to hear that Groove Synthesis will be showcasing the complete 3rd Wave line-up at the NAMM Show 2026, giving attendees the chance to get a hands-on demonstration of the flagship 24-voice keyboard, its desktop module counterpart and the more recently released 8-voice 8M variant.
This marks the company’s first NAMM appearance where the entire 3rd Wave family will be on display together, offering attendees a chance to compare the models side by side and discover which configuration best fits their creative needs. a number of special demo sessions with Sam Gutman (Lauryn Hill, The Fugees) on Friday and Saturday will provide an opportunity to hear the 3rd Wave in the hands of a master synthesist, and Groove Synthesis will be also hosting a Meet & Greet session with synth legend Anthony Marinelli on the Saturday, giving attendees the chance to grab a license for Anthony’s Think Like a Synth educational course in a giveaway.
"NAMM is a place for synth lovers to gather, and we can't wait to meet everyone who's been curious about the 3rd Wave and the new 8M addition. Whether you've been following us since the beginning or you're just discovering what we're about, stop by and spend some time with these instruments. We built them to inspire, and the best way to understand that is to get your hands on the keys and knobs." - Bob Coover, Co-Founder & DSP Designer, Groove Synthesis
All three 3rd Wave models share the same sound engine, featuring five synthesis methods per oscillator: PPG wavetables, modern wavetables, virtual-analogue, linear FM and sampling. Each voice includes individual Dave Rossum-designed 2140 analogue filters and output stages that deliver the warm, expansive character that defines the Groove Synthesis sound. Regular readers will know that we’ve been closely following Groove Synthesis since they announced their plans to launch the original 3rd Wave, and have put all three members of the family to the test since their launches. You can check out our in-depth reviews for each model below.
"We're a small team of synth enthusiasts, and NAMM gives us a chance to meet like-minded individuals to share in our excitement for the 3rd Wave. Bring your questions, your patch ideas, your stories. We want to hear what you're working on and how the 3rd Wave might fit in." - Andrew Silverman, Co-Founder, Groove Synthesis
