iZotope tease new features of RX7

Audio repair stalwarts aim to fix the unfixable

iZotope's RX audio repair software has earned a special place in the heart of many sound professionals because of its ability to fix seemingly unfixable audio. Now, with the upcoming version 7, iZotope are touting a new feature that could be to dialogue editors what pitch correction is to music producers.

In the below video from iZotope, an editor uses RX7 to change the intonation of a piece of dialogue, from an upward inflection to a final-sounding, downward cadence.

Though details are limited, iZotope are also billing music-centric functions on their website: "Remix vocals, bass, and percussion” and "Isolate or even remove vocals from a stereo mix”. Both pretty useful tools that we look forward to hearing more about.

All the tools for automatically removing noise, clipping, clicks and other distracting noises are also present, as you’d expect. There’s even multichannel support up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2.

We’ll bring you more information when we have it. RX7 pre-sale pricing is currently in effect as is discounted pricing for upgrades and crossgrades.
