Noise Engineering have announced the launch of Confundo Funkidos, a successor to their hugely popular Confundo Funkitus module that has been inspired by DJ performance techniques.
Described as a rhythm crossfader and mute utility, the module allows users to route two pairs of rhythms to its left and right inputs, and then use a CV-controllable crossfader and three curve algorithms to fade between them and combine them in a variety of ways. Each channel is equipped with a mute switch that allows voices to be instantly added or removed from a patch, while a Burn button allows for some instant fills that add some variation to percussive patterns.
Although it occupies the same 12HP footprint as its predecessor, the new module boasts double the amount of outputs along with an expanded set of parameters. The Burn function, for example, now includes a potentiometer that offers a more versatile and hands-on way to create fills, and the Mute switches each include extra positions that allow each channel to output triggers but not receive Burn fills, or output accents.
“We’ve been thinking about a new version of Confundo Funkitus for a long time. Confundo Funkidos brings together everything we’ve learned in the years since the original was discontinued, and makes the original concept even more fun. We’re really excited to hear what people do with it.” - Markus Cancilla, Chief of Destruction, Noise Engineering
