Beyerdynamic GB re-brand as Polar Audio
The UK branch of Beyerdynamic have re-launched as Polar Audio Ltd. Beyerdynamic GB, as they were previously called, distributed not only Beyer mics and headphones, but also products from manufacturers including Blue Sky, Gallien Kruger and Dynacord.
The re-shuffle will allow the company to trade autonomously, so they can manage each distributed brand equally, and approach the different sectors of their market without any brand prejudice. They will retain all their brands, including Beyer, in the UK.
According to the Polar team, the move follows a shift in focus from pro audio and broadcast reselling, to new sectors such as the install market, which now accounts for around 60 percent of their business.
But the move is not just for the benefit of the Polar Audio and their resellers. In the coming months, the end user will apparently reap rewards such as a uniform three-year warranty on all Polar-distributed products, rather than the one- or two-year warranties previously offered under the Beyerdynamic GB name.
