HEDD Audio’s latest announcement sees the company introduce a new software platform that offers remote control and calibration of their MK2 monitors and Bass subwoofers.
Available for macOS and Windows, CTRL brings together all of the MK2 and Bass’ core functions, presenting them in a single, intuitive interface that make its possible for engineers to fine-tune their monitoring system from the comfort of their listening position. Everything from EQ, bass extension, shelving and desktop filters to the monitors’ CoP (Closed or Ported) modes and the company’s HEDD Lineariser filtering can be adjusted in real time, and can be saved and recalled as Profiles to cater to different session needs, monitoring formats or listening positions.
The software supports anything from a simple stereo setup to large immersive rigs — the maximum speaker count sits at a staggering 250 — providing engineers with precise control over every element of their monitoring chain. Each speaker or group can be calibrated with a 10-band parametric EQ and per-speaker delay control to maintain accurate time alignment, while system-wide phase linearisation between satellites and subwoofers ensures coherent behaviour across 2.1, surround and immersive configurations.
