Sound Radix have announced Auto-Align 2, a major update to their automatic microphone alignment and phase correction plug-in. This update aims to eliminate comb-filtering, significantly reduce transient smearing and to optimise the phase of each microphone. The new version also incorporates technology from Sound Radix's Emmy Award-winning plugin, Auto-Align Post.
Auto-Align 2 brings a one-click workflow for fast and easy track alignment, assisted by an automatic reference and grouping detection process. With one click, the makers claim that this plug-in can align all of your microphones in a single pass, eliminating the need for manual routing and configuration.
More advanced features include a Spectral Phase Optimisation feature, which corrects phase shifts within frequency ranges, resulting in a more coherent and richer-sounding audio signal. The new version also has Absolute Phase correction for faithful reproduction of sound directionality as well as some more advanced features.
Auto-Align 2 also features surround sound support for multi-channel applications. The plug-in is available for macOS and Windows and is compatible with AAX, Audio Unit, VST3, and ARA2 formats.
