Prism Sound competition winner: Kieran Lynch

Dublin-based sound engineer wins top-of-the-range A-D/D-A converter
Congratulations to Kieran Lynch, the winner of the Prism Sound competition from SOS May 2006. Last week, the good people at Prism Sound flew Kieran from his home in Dublin to their headquarters in Cambridge to configure his prize, the ADA8XR multi-channel A-D/D-A converter. They also gave him a tour of their state-of-the-art facilities and took him out to dinner in one of the more swankier restaurants in the greater Cambridge area, before booking him into the Crowne Plaza hotel for the night.

Included in the prize, along with a meet and greet session, were two option cards. Kieran opted for a Pro Tools Mix card, to work with his current setup, and a Pro Tools HD card, which will allow him to continue using the ADA8XR when he upgrades to an HD system in the future.

Kieran, who runs Smalltone Productions, is a freelance sound engineer who has worked with the likes of U2 and REM. His most recent projects include The Beautiful South's latest album and The Frank and Walters' forthcoming CD. He plans to use the Prism converters on future projects with Vesta Varro and StarLittleThing.

Sound On Sound would like to thank Prism Sound for the wonderful prize, and we wish Kieran all the best in the future.
