The first third-party Reason 4 refill ships
UK-based sound designers and sample creation specialists Flatpack Productions have announced Flatpack 3 (FP3), the first ever third-party refill for the latest version of Reason, v4. FP3 comprises patches and samples that take advantage of the processing power of Reason 4's new instruments: Thor and RPG8, but make use of the existing rack instruments and the Combinator to good effect.
The engineers behind Flatpack state that FP3 takes the opposite approach to conventional sample libraries, by equipping their users with "creative tools" to make their own sounds, rather than providing "bloated" libraries of samples.
So, if you have Reason 4, why not try FP3? It costs £50 and is available from the Prop Shop on Propellerhead's web site(www.propellerheads.se), or from www.lapjockey.com.
