SSL have announced the launch of Meter Pro, a new all-in-one software metering solution aimed at music and post-production professionals. Alongside the new plug-in, the company have also released an update for their SSL 360 software that brings some new features and functions to the UF1, UF8 and UC1 control surfaces.
Meter Pro
Meter Pro is an advanced metering system that has been designed to provide music and audio professionals with an all-in-one suite of real-time audio-analysis tools including loudness metering, True Peak and RMS level monitoring, a real-time analyser, phase coherence analysis and stereo balance evaluation. Multi-channel formats up to 7.1.4 are supported, making it suitable for everything from mono or stereo to immersive content for music or post-production. When paired with the SSL UF1 controller, users can access Meter Pro directly via their control surface’s hardware controls, and analyse audio content through its large 4.3-inch display.

- Loudness Metering: Perfectly align tracks to industry-standard integrated loudness levels via an extensive preset list that covers international broadcast, streaming and film standards, including: ITU, EBU, ATSC, ARIB, AGCOM, YouTube, Netflix, Spotify, TASA and SAWA. Meter Pro features a suite of loudness visualisations including momentary bar, short-term history capture and histogram, as well as comprehensive text value readouts covering integrated loudness, True Peak max, loudness range, PLR, PSR and much more.
- Multi-channel Audio Support: Mono, stereo, 3.0, Quad, 5.0, 5.1, 7.0, 7.1, 7.0.2, 7.1.2, and 7.1.4.
- Real-Time Analyser: Scalable, 31-band RTA for a full-spectrum view of audio. Identify and correct energy build-ups, imbalances and resonances in real time.
- True Peak and RMS Monitoring: True Peak and RMS meters, supplemented by max and current text readouts provide essential feedback on levels and overloads. Choose between different scales and systems including: Non-Linear, Non-Linear 2x, Linear, Linear 2x, K-20, K-14, K-12.
- Lissajous Phase Scope & Phase Correlation Meter: Instantly visualise stereo phase relationships and detect phase cancellation issues for mono compatibility.
- Analogue Metering: Classic VU and PPM displays bring the feel of traditional analogue metering into modern digital or hybrid workflows. VU meters help perfectly gauge average loudness and musical dynamics, while PPMs provide the reliable metering method preferred in many broadcast scenarios.
SSL 360 Update
SSL have also announced an update to their SSL 360 software, which delivers full support for the Meter Pro plug-in, as well as support for Apple’s M4 chips on all SSL 360-enabled plug-ins. Additionally, all 360-enabled channel strip plug-ins — including 4K E, 4K B, Channel Strip 2, 360 Link, and 360 Link Bus Compressor — all now contain gesture control, meaning that users of the UF8 and UF1 can write touch automation from the Plug-in Mixer layer.
Other new features include UF8 and UF1 DAW profiles for FL Studio and Samplitude/Sequoia, VST3 DAW control integration for FL Studio and Mixbus 11, and a number of improvements and bug fixes for both the SSL 12 and SSL 18 audio interfaces. Finally, an Invert Rotary feature has been added to SSL 360 Link and the Link Bus Compressor plug-ins.

Meter Pro is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 11 or higher. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Meter Pro is available now, and until 12 June 2025, is being offered at an introductory price of $66.49£59.98, reduced from its full cost of $199£191.98. It is also included in the company’s SSL Complete and Complete Access Bundle subscription plans.
