Flock Audio have revealed that their family of digitally controlled analogue routing systems will soon gain a sixth member, and as well as being the newest, it’ll also be the most affordable model to date. The PATCH se will offer 48 channels (24 inputs and 24 outputs) of relay-based routing, and will be priced at an impressive $999.
In order to clearly define the growing product range, Flock Audio say that they will be splitting the line-up into two categories. The existing models — the PATCH LT through to the PATCH XT — will form the PATCH Pro Series, while the latest arrival will represent the Standard Edition line. The former will become the flagship range, catering to professional studios and ‘power users’ with high I/O requirements, while the latter aims to provide a more accessible entry point without compromising the system’s fundamental experience.
The PATCH se employs the same switching technology that powers its siblings, as well as full integration with the powerful PATCH APP software, but Flock Audio have carefully reduced its feature set in order to arrive at the low price. Here’s a breakdown of what’s included — and what isn’t included — when compared to the PATCH Pro line:
