Hear if for yourself at LIMS
Bose’s L1 caused quite a stir when it was first launched. The use of the company’s Cylindrical Radiator technology allows its slender columns to fill a room with sound, with the help of an accompanying but suitably small sub woofer. The latest in the L1 series is the L1 Compact, a version of the portable line array system for musicians on the move, which is enjoying its first public outing at LIMS ’09.
The key feature of the L1 Compact is, as the name suggests, its size. It collapses down to two compact packages that can be carried easily by one person, but Bose say it can be set up in under one minute. The line array section of the L1 Compact is mounted atop two extension bars that fit into the subwoofer module, and when fully assembled, it stands 68 inches tall. But, if necessary, the speaker section can be mounted directly into the bass enclosure, making the L1 Compact really live up to its name.
There are instrument and mic inputs, each with Bose’s Tonematch EQ presets, and there are minijack and RCA inputs for plugging in MP3 players, laptops or CD players. Why not check it out? Bose are on stand E24 at the London International Music Show.
