NAMM 2010: Kurzweil PC3 LE6 keyboard (Video)

64 voices, 10 insert effects, streamlined user interface

UK distributors Sound Technology have announced that the Kurzweil PC3 LE6, the first in the company's new PC3 LE product line, has arrived in the UK and should be in the shops now. The much-anticipated LE line includes the sound set from the PC3, in addition to many of the PC3's most popular features like Setup Mode, Song Mode and Quick Access Mode.<strong>Kurzweil PC3 LE6: </strong>The 61-note PC3 LE6 will be followed shortly by the 76- and 88-note versions, the PC3 LE7 and PC3 LE8.

Sound Tech say the LE's streamlined user interface has been designed to allow for a quick learning curve and unprecedented ease of use. This new, interactive UI provides a constant stream of useful information to players — move a controller and the LE will display the controller's name, value and the parameter to which it's been assigned.

With 64 voices of polyphony, the DSP synthesis power of the PC3 and up to 10 available insert effects, the PC3 LE6 is said by Sound Tech to be "the perfect choice for musicians seeking high-end, professional sounds and features in an affordable keyboard".

The PC3 LE line features USB thumb-drive storage, 16 independent arpeggiators, 16 simultaneous Riffs, eight backlit and impact-sensitive drum pads, and high-quality, 24-bit D-A converters. .

Available more or less immediately, the PC3 LE6 will self for around £1227 after January. Release dates of the PC3 LE7 and PC3 LE8 are yet to be confirmed by Kurzweil.
