Stagg entry-level and semi-pro drum kits launched

FAB 322/320 Series and the FAB 622 Series

The drum and percussion division of multi-instrument manufacturers Stagg is best known for its budget-priced junior and starter drum kits, all made in China. Now the company are taking on the entry-level and semi-pro market with the launch of two new ranges, the FAB 322/320 Series and the FAB 622 Series. The former is a five-drum entry-level kit that comes in a choice of rock sizes (FAB322) or fusion sizes (FAB320), and are both priced at £388.Stagg FAB kit

The shells are made from six-ply basswood and, importantly, come with Remo heads and double-braced heavy-duty hardware, giving an edge over some other low-cost entry-level kits.

The rock kit includes a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, 12 x 10-inch and 13 x 11-inch rack toms, a 16 x 16-inch floor tom, a 14 x 5.5-inch matching wood snare drum, a bass drum pedal, a hi-hat stand and a straight cymbal stand. The fusion kit is more compact and includes a 20 x 18-inch bass drum, 10 x 8-inch and 12 x 9-inch rack toms, a 14 x 14-inch floor tom and similar snare drum, pedals and stands to the rock kit. Both types are available in a choice of Black, Wine Red, and Pearloid White wrapped finishes.

The FAB622, meanwhile, is a five-drum and hardware kit similar to the FAB322 kit, with basswood shells, Remo heads and rock sizes, but comes with a lacquered finish in a choice of high gloss black or natural wood and is priced at £572. The natural finish model looks particularly attractive at this price point too.
