Open Planet Software have announced the launch of the latest version of their Mac-based plug-in host, along with the welcome news that the application can now be used on an iPad.
Sessions is a performance-oriented plug-in host that’s been designed to put virtual instruments and effects at users’ fingertips, and combines them with a powerful set of features that give musicians the freedom to explore, create, play and perform music without the need for a DAW.
Built around a straightforward and user-friendly GUI, the company say that Sessions aims to keep users ‘in the moment’, and comes kitted out with features that allow them to quickly experiment with new ideas and jump-start the creative process. For those looking to take their favourite plug-ins and virtual instruments to the rehearsal room and stage, Sessions includes everything needed for an impromptu jam or a professional performance including MIDI layers and splits, flexible audio mixing, seamless sound switching, MIDI control, Ableton Link support, an always-on recording function and more.
With the release of the latest version, Sessions is now available as an iPad App.
