PreSonus Sphere becomes Studio One+

PreSonus Studio One 6.2 DAW update perpetual Sphere subscription

PreSonus have announced the availability of Studio One 6.2, the latest version of their popular DAW software. Alongside a range of editing, arranging and mixing improvements, the company have also announced that PreSonus Sphere, their all-in-one subscription package, has been renamed to Studio One+.

Arrangement & Editing

The latest version of Studio One introduces a range of new features and improvements to its existing editing and arrangement tools. A number of changes have been made to the software’s Layers functionality, with users now able to independently edit different Takes, move and copy ranges between Layers, and take advantage of newly added Eraser, Paint, Mute and Bend tools. Naming and numbering has also been improved, and a new option now allows Tracks and Channels to display a Layer’s name.

Lots of other additional functions have been added, including the ability to highlight scales in the Note Editor and colour note events based on their scale, and a Stretch Part Automation feature which can be used when resizing notes. New Arrow Tool options are present for note editing, and a new modifier for a temporary Split Tool has been introduced.

Mixing & Macros

As for mixing, stereo channels now offer linked Polarity buttons, whilst disabling a Folder Track will also disable a linked Bus, and both Mute and Solo functions are now linked between Folder Tracks and any linked Buses. It is also now possible to copy plug-ins along with their automation data. Multiple sorting options have been added to the Macros list, a text search for filtering Macros by name has been implemented, and the Macro Toolbar settings menu has been consolidated.

A range of general features and updates are also included. Channel assignments can now be edited across multiple selected tracks simultaneously, and a Delete command with no event or range selected will now remove any selected track(s). A Send MIDI Clock option for hardware controllers has been added, and Sensel Morph and Expressive E Osmose devices have been introduced, along with new presets for Ampire and Pedalboard. Additionally, a new option has been added which allows Dropout Protection to be completely disabled, although it isn’t recommended to be used regularly.

Bug Fixes

The latest update also tackles a number of known bugs, a full list of which can be found in the update's release notes.

Studio One 6.2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher.
