Qu-Bit Electronix release Stardust

Eurorack tape looper inspired by the cosmos

Qu-Bit Stardust angle

Qu-Bit Electronix have launched Stardust, a Eurorack tape looper module inspired by classic tape techniques. Stardust captures up to 10 minutes of high-quality audio (or 5 minutes in stereo) and allows users to transform it through intuitive controls that modify playback speed, pitch, direction and lag for a hands-on, expressive approach.

Stardust records loops at 48kHz and 32-bit internally with an ultra-low noise floor, also supporting click-less looping transitions.

Drawing on early musique concrète techniques, Stardust includes four looping modes: Sound On Sound for endless layering, Replace to swap in new audio, Re-Sample to resample front he loop and Frippertronics for classic tape decay effects. The Slice and Skip controls let users divide loops into segments and reassemble them, creating evolving soundscapes by reversing, re-pitching, or reordering fragments. Added flutter and hiss controls introduce a warm tape feel, while a reverb and filters allow further tone control.

Hidden parameters are accessible via a shift button, with deeper customisation options available through Qu-Bit’s Narwhal web app, enabling advanced pitch and speed control settings. Stardust also supports saving loops as WAV files via USB, making it a useful addition to any Eurorack setup.

Price & Availability

Stardust is available for pre-order priced at $499, with shipping to start on 15 November.
