Women’s Audio Mission are a non-profit organisation based in San Francisco, whose goal is to encourage women’s contribution to the audio industry. They’ve just announced that they’ll be holding a panel at the upcoming SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, that will include some of the most high-profile female audio engineers in the music industry. Women’s Audio Mission founder Terri Winston will be hosting the event, which will see talks from producers Trina Shoemaker, Sylvia Massy, Ann Mincieli and Emily Wright. The producers — who between them boast multiple Grammy awards and production credits with artists such as Jay Z, Sheryl Crow, the Chili Peppers, Katy Perry and Johnny Cash — will be discussing a wide range of subjects, including recording tips and techniques, preparing for a session, and favourite bits of studio gear.
The panel, entitled Women In The Recording Studio, will be held on March 19th at the Austin Convention Center (room 11AB), and will take place between 12.30 and 1.30pm.
