A new wireless guitar system from the US-based Brace Audio Corporation promises superior signal transmission, according to UK distributors Hand In Hand.
Inside the DWG-1000's transmitter module, the guitar signal is converted into digital audio. Using 2.4GHz spread-spectrum transmission, the digitised signal is sent to the receiver unit. There, it's converted back to analogue audio, with no signal loss, and no loss of high frequencies due to long cable runs, Brace Audio claim. Brace Audio's unique digital technology, the company go on to say, "does away with the hiss, crackle, signal loss and RF interference inherent in outdated UHF/VHF systems."
According to Brace, the units offer "a 25m radius of crystal-clear and uninterrupted audio performance over the 2.4GHz frequency bands, which are well outside of the crowded UHF/VHF frequencies used by virtually every other wireless product. With no antennae to set up and no worries of RF interference or hostile environments, the DWG-1000 gives the user a true 'plug and play' experience."
UK distributors Hand In Hand told us that they expect a UK retail price of under £150 per unit and that the Brace system allows for up to four units to be used simultaneously.
