The Very Loud Indeed Co.’s latest Kontakt library has just arrived, delivering a third instalment in their Outland series and introducing 100 new character-filled patches.
Outland III: Dark Scoring Textures is said to be particularly well suited to dark drama, thrillers and tension scoring tasks, but can also hold its own when put to work on action projects. The new arrival introduces 100 new patches that, much like previous releases in the series, are highly responsive to MIDI velocity and modulation, allowing users to craft expressive and versatile evolving sounds. Plenty of onboard tonal shaping is provided, with the library boasting synth-style envelope and filter sections, as well as providing users with a set of built-in EQ and effects processors.
In addition to Kontakt patches, all of the underlying audio files are provided in WAV format, allowing the sounds to be imported directly into a DAW session or another sampling platform.
Compatibility
OUTLAND III: Dark Scoring Textures runs in the full version of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 6.8 or later — it will not run in the free Player version — which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
