Fred Anton Corvest (FAC) offer an extensive range of AUv3 plug-ins and iOS/iPadOS Apps, and their multiband effects processor has just been treated to a major upgrade. FAC Bandit 2 sports a freshly designed GUI and introduces a whole host of new features including a new output limiter, enhanced linked controls, all effects included as standard and universal support for Apple’s range of mobile devices.
As with its predecessor, FAC Bandit 2 splits incoming audio signals into three independent frequency bands, each of which can be processed separately before being recombined at the plug-in’s output stage; the bands’ ranges can be set using a pair of crossover points, with slope values ranging from 6dB/oct to 48dB/oct. Saturator, LoFi, Ring Modulator, Delay and Reverb processors are available for each band, and all of the effects are now included as standard rather than being available via in-app purchases.
Along with its visual overhaul, Version 2 includes a new linked control mode that allows parameters including gains, crossover frequencies, mix controls and effects to be adjusted across multiple bands simultaneously. And in addition to the collection of per-band effects, there’s now a master brick-wall limiter that can be engaged the plug-in’s output stage.
