Dean Zelinsky announces his new DBZ guitar range

To be unveiled at the US NAMM show in January 09

Dean Zelinsky, the man who, at the ripe old age of 18, founded the metal guitarists' one-stop shop, Dean Guitars, is back with a brand new guitar line due to be unveiled to the world at the US NAMM show in January next year.

Called DBZ (and that's pronounced 'zee' not 'zed'), the new venture is a partnership with Jeff Diamant, founder and CEO of the much-respected Diamond Amplification, and follows Zelinsky's decision to quit Dean Guitars in July.

DBZ, Zelinsky says, will be heading straight back into the metal market. "What I'm going to do with guitars is what the custom bike people have done for the motorcycle industry. We'll be using rare, exotic woods, laser technology and proprietary graphics applications I've developed."

However, DBZ will also be offering more conventional solid-bodied electrics (ie. without pointy headstocks) and, though the Pro models will be made in the USA, there will be a less-expensive DBZ range manufactured in the Far East.
