New home & project studio range
Vocalbooth.com are best known for their range of, well, vocal booths — funny that. But their latest ventures see them applying their acoustic-treatment expertise in slightly different markets. The first, and probably most interesting new development to the average SOS reader, is the VB Amp Box range of guitar amplifier enclosures. Benefits of the Amp Boxes include the ability to practise late at night without disturbing co-habitants, but also recording amps at high levels (with the desired amount of gain), without damaging the hearing of the players or the neighbours!
The second of Vocalbooth.com’s new ventures is the VB Mobile Studio, a service for the design and building of bespoke studio trailers. The company can specify fully equipped, towable rigs ranging from 20-feet to 54-feet in length, complete with expanding, slide-out walls. VB Mobile Studio customers can request on-board air-conditioning, self-sufficient power, “luxury amenities” (think mini-bars, toilets and comfy chairs), and they can even put graphics on the outside of the trailer! The company also offer leasing opportunities and what they call “complete transport and maintenance packages”.

Microphones are not included, but there's space to place a floor stand in front of the cabinet in all the Boxes. Optional extras include wheels, ventilation silencer, and the fitting of Auralex foam instead of the standard treatment. Prices range from £985 to £1316 including VAT ($1195 to $1695 in the USA).
