If your Eurorack rig happens to be in need of a dual-channel, polyphonic, experimental sampler that’s capable of manipulating both audio and CV signals, then Venus Instruments have the answer! The Veno-Orbit ticks all of those boxes, boasts an intuitive one-knob-per-function layout, and requires no menu-diving to operate.
The feature-packed module is capable of recording and playing back audio and CV signals, with a comprehensive set of parameters providing both local and CV-operated control over the likes of start, length and pitch for each channel. Each channel is equipped with four layers that can be used in multiple ways: it’s possible to trigger one-shot samples, turn samples into playable instruments by crossfading between them, or simply map their contained samples across a MIDI keyboard.
As the module will also capture CV signals, it can be used to record and play back modulation, envelopes or pitch sequences. Its inputs and outputs boast accurate V/Oct tracking, and there are adjustable slew limiters that can be used to add portamento. As each channel is fully independent, it’s possible to put one to work on audio duties while using the other for CV signals, which allows for some interesting self-contained patching.
