Waves have announced a new bundle, Silver, which is "designed with personal production studios in mind". It features 16 of their professional plug-ins, including Trueverb, L1 Ultramaximizer , Q10 Graphic EQ, IR-L Convolution Reverb and MaxxBass. (Check out the Waves web site for details of all the included plug-ins.) It retails for $900 in the USA, and customers can get 10 percent off in October!
Also new from Waves is Dorrough, a metering plug-in with a very flexible feature set. It's based on products from the hardware company of the same name, whose meters are popular in professional audio and video circles.
Waves' Dorrough plug-in enables the user to configure their meters in a number of different ways, and calibrate them to suit specific tasks. Also, different styles of meter can be selected, from horizontal and vertical bargraph displays to stylish arc-shaped meters, to further add to the customisation options. Probably most useful, however, is the ability to resize Dorrough's display, so it can be made very large, enabling the user to see it across the room or through a control room window, for example.
