Sponsored by Sound On Sound and a must for all music enthusiasts, this year’s Analogue to Digital Music Expo takes place on Saturday 21st April at Exeter Phoenix. Now in it’s 4th year and attracting over 800 people, this unique music industry, recording and production festival is jam-packed with workshops, demos, live music, music industry panels and studio surgeries featuring leading music technology companies and renowned producers and musicians to present all the very latest and greatest equipment & software for musicians, performers, DJs, engineers and producers in the cultural heart of Exeter!

On the day you can try out the latest technology in music recording, production and performance, including guitar and bass technology, drums and soft synths and most importantly speak to the experts about how to get the most out of this amazing equipment! The show spreads over 4 zones, including a live auditorium, media centre, workshop areas and a professional recording studio.


The day culminates into the legendary prize draw of £5,000+ worth of music software and hardware!


A2D showcases cutting-edge music software, hardware and instruments used in music creation, production and performance, from Time+Space, Shure, Native Instruments, 2Twenty2, AVID (Pro Tools, MAudio), Quested, Affinity Audio, TfPro, Analogue Systems, Yamaha UK, AAS, Allen & Heath, Audio-Technica, Sound-Tech (Propellerhead/Reason), Dubspot and more ...
The event will also showcase some of the most contemporary Apps available for music production and performance, such as Reactable Mobile, Yamaha TNR-i, iMaschine, masterclasses and workshops including composing music for film trailers with composer Timo Baker (Universal, MTV), drum N bass and dubstep workshop with DJ and producer erb N dub (Navigator, Micky Finn), Ableton Live demos with Mindlobster and Roger O’Donnell, D Product (Roni Size) will be showcasing ‘Blade’ (Rob Papen’s new synth), production hints and tips from mix engineer Gary Bromham (Sheryl Crow, Bjork) showcasing Reason 6's new devices and more ...

Music industry panels, hosted by SOS PC Notes columnist Martin Walker, will run throughout the day, with renowned producers and musicians including John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, MUSE), Paul Gray (Musicians Union, ex-Damned) mastering legend Simon Heyworth and Mykaell Riley (Steel Pulse, Bass Culture).
SOS's very own Paul White and Hugh Robjohns, from the magazine will give technical advice and guidance to musicians, sound engineers and producers at Sound Gallery Studios.
We are also pleased to welcome keyboard/synthesiser player and programmer Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) and keyboard player/composer Roger O’Donnell (The Cure, Psychedelic Furs) and Emma Scott (Promoter Of The Year 2011 and 2012, Pure Rawk Awards).
