Antares have released Auto-Tune Vocal Compressor, a dual compressor plug-in which uses machine learning technology to analyse incoming signals and recommend an optimal starting point for processing.
Four different compressor designs have been modelled, with each of the plug-in’s processing sections offering a choice of FET, Opto A, Opto B and Modern settings, and both sections can be engaged or bypassed separately to allow for either single- or dual-stage compression. A Warm setting allows the introduction of some subtle valve-style saturation, and built-in parallel processing is present courtesy of a Mix parameter.
The exact set of controls available depends on the selected compressor type, but users are able to set all of the common parameters such as threshold, attack and release times, ratio and make-up gain independently for each compressor, with visual feedback over input, output and gain reduction values provided by two sets of dedicated meters.
A section placed on the left side of the GUI allows users to select the type of input along with their desired compression and style settings from a set of drop-down menus, and have the plug-in employ its machine learning functionality to suggest a starting point for their processing using a Learn button. Additionally, Auto-Tune Vocal Compressor comes loaded with a variety of artist presets that cover a wide range of vocal styles.
Auto-Tune Vocal Compressor is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 11 and above. It is available in VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in formats.

Auto-Tune Vocal Compressor is available now. A perpetual licence costs $179£186 including VAT, and it is also included with Antares’ Auto-Tune Unlimited subscriptions, which are available for $24.99 per month, or $174.99 per year when paid annually.
