SSL unveil the Oracle analogue in-line mixing console

Offers complete recall of all processing, routing, gain and pan settings

SSL Oracle analogue mixing console full digital recall

SSL have announced the launch of the Oracle, a fully analogue in-line mixing console that offers large-format features in a compact, AWS-size frame. Available in 24- and 48-input configurations and boasting up to 112 inputs at mixdown, the new arrival promises to "revolutionise analogue console technology once again" thanks to the company’s new ActiveAnalogue technology, which offers complete recall of all processing, routing, gain and pan settings .

The new console merges the harmonic drive technology employed in the SSL PureDrive mic preamps with the current-driven buses introduced in the Origin, as well as offering various ‘flavours’ of harmonic saturation throughout its signal path. It’s capable of producing from the precise sounds associated with SSL’s SuperAnalogue circuitry to a palette of driven analogue tones, and just about everything else in between. From an SSL legacy perspective, the company say that the Oracle embodies the DNA of the classic E, G and J/K consoles, while taking SSL’s sonic signature into the future.

A standout feature of the Oracle is it’s recall and reset capabilities: the newly developed ActiveAnalogue technology means that the entire console, including all of its processing and routing configuration, can be saved and recalled instantly. This makes it possible to switch between different sessions or configurations instantly — moving between tracking and mixing sessions, for example — with no need to recall any setting manually.
