Efficiency boosts in Altiverb v6.3
Although it looks the same on the outside, version 6.3 of Altiverb is very much a different beast under the hood. As part of what developers Audio Ease call “ongoing extensive optimisations”, the software convolution reverb processor is now significantly more efficient than previous revisions.
Arjen van der Schoot from Audio Ease commented, “On a five year old PC that I use for testing, I have seen plug-in counts in Nuendo and Pro Tools almost double”. Further improvements in version 6.3 include increased integration with Pyramix systems, and full compatibility with Pro Tools 8.
In other Audio Ease news, the company are releasing impulse responses of the studio where Bernard Hermann recorded the music for Psycho, Paramount Scoring stage M (pictured), which is sadly closing. The impulse responses will be free of charge to registered Altiverb users. Head to www.audioease.com/ir for more.
