The latest mic to join the Lewitt line-up is said to offer exceptional sound quality, enhanced durability and high feedback resistance, all without breaking the bank.
The MTP 5 Live Vocal Microphone offers the company’s take on the classic dynamic stage mic design, and promises to capture every nuance of a voice and help it to cut through a mix without suffering from harsh-sounding sibilance. Isolation from noise is apparently equally impressive, with a well-controlled cardioid pattern and optimised off-axis response combatting stage noise and avoiding feedback. A metal ring on the body serves as a barrier for artists who ‘cup’ the mic, keeping their hands from obstructing the capsule and its vents, and the capsule itself is suspended in a rubber mount designed to minimise handling noise.
Of course, how a mic sounds is only half the battle when it comes to live sound — its equally important that they are able to stand up to life on the road — and so the MTP 5 features a rugged metal body, mesh and grill that Lewitt say will withstand years of touring wear and tear.
The MTP 5 is supplied with a clip, transport bag and windscreen. A version fitted with an on/off switch is also available.
