Lewitt have teamed up with Elgato to create a new processor for the company’s Wave Next product range, introducing some new capabilities that aim to provide content creators with studio-quality audio.
The company have developed the Wave FX processor, a custom chip designed to optimise devices’ audio signal path and provide some onboard signal-shaping tools. The DSP-powered suite includes a high-pass filter, expander, vocal tuner, compressor and EQ, as well as making it impossible to clip inputs thanks to the same intelligent limiting system that’s found in Lewitt’s Connect 2 audio interface.
Elgato have redesigned their Wave Link software, which now supports VST inserts, and creates a low-latency path between the Wave hardware and the effects signal chain, providing users with a single, fully processed signal that be routed to any application, including streaming software.
The Wave FX processor has found its way into the following Elgato products:
- Wave:3 MK2
- Wave XLR MK2
- XLR Dock MK2
- Wave XLR Pro
“With Wave Next, we are aiming to combine the best of both worlds, the pro-audio and the creator audio world, for seamless audio workflows.” - Roman Perschon, CEO, Lewitt
Availability
The Wave:3 MK2, Wave XLR MK2 and XLR Dock MK2 are available now, and the Wave XLR Pro is expected to ship in Q2 2026.
