Based in Switzerland, Audio Performance design and manufacture professional sound systems, and have a wide range of products that mainly serve the touring live sound and installation industries. Their latest product however, the KS12.0, comes in the form of a large full-range monitoring system aimed at studio users, with Audio Performance stating that the system's great sound and high speech intelligibility make it the perfect tool for audio engineers dealing with demanding spaces.
The KS12.0 is a three-way active system consisting of a main enclosure which contains a 12-inch low-frequency driver, a pair of 6.5-inch mid-frequency drivers, and a 1-inch fabric dome tweeter with an advanced waveguide. A second enclosure containing a single 12-inch low frequency driver is also available as an optional extra.
The system is equipped with 96kHz DSP processing which provides filtering, EQ, delay and protection functions, and can be controlled remotely over a network by the company’s Net Control PC application. Power is handled by built-in Class-D amplifiers, which deliver 500W each to the low and mid-frequency drivers, and 150W to the high-frequency units.
