LANDR have announced the upcoming launch of two new tools in their ever-growing ethical, multi-model AI platform. The first, Blueprints, has been designed for the earliest stages of music creation, serving as inspiration for a new song and providing raw materials to sample or extract parts from; Layers then takes that output and provides creators with professional, mix-ready instrument performances that adapt to a track’s structure, key and tempo.
Blueprints
LANDR say that Blueprints has been designed to help artists understand musical structure, experiment with form, and accelerate creativity. Acting as a virtual songwriting assistant, the tool is capable of generating multitrack, structured ‘song starters’, with users able to steer the results by defining the likes of genre, vocal style and instrumentation, as well as lyrics and reference audio. Once an idea is finalised, Blueprints will deliver a set of DAW-ready stems arranged into full song sections.
Key Features
- Generate multitrack song starters with real musical structure.
- Work with editable stems for drums, bass, vocal and instrumental elements.
- Explore, learn, brainstorm, and shape early arrangements quickly.
- Experiment with multiple music models.
- Expand these song ideas into full songs with Layers.
“Our goal is simple: to support creators at every stage of the creative process. Blueprints helps them start. Layers helps them finish. And everything runs on ethical AI that respects creators.” - Pascal Pilon, CEO, LANDR
Layers
The second of the new tools takes over once an idea is already in motion, helping users to build momentum and bring their song to completion. Co-developed with Aiode, Layers is essentially an AI co-producer that listens to the output of Blueprints — or indeed any musical content — and uses it to create professional, mix-ready parts that adapt to a track’s key, timing, structure and tone. It can be used for everything from adding rhythm or lead guitar to slap or synth bass, horns or drums, or even multi-instrument parts.
Layers is also capable of transforming any sample or recording into a full stem that works with any musical arrangement. LANDR say that it’s capable of making any sample fit any song, offering a powerful alternative to manually auditioning loop and sample libraries to find a phrase that suits a song’s style.
Key Features
- Generate musical layers that complement any song.
- Control how each layer is performed, from complex or minimal to solo or rhythm parts.
- Adapt and expand any loop, one-shot, or recording to fit a song’s structure and feel.
- Drag-and-drop high-quality stems directly into any DAW.
“Layers represents a significant advancement in how producers work with audio. From generating new instrumental performances for a song to reshaping samples so they fit seamlessly into different musical contexts, audio is becoming context-aware and malleable in ways that were unimaginable a few years ago.” - Daniel Rowland, Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships, LANDR
Availability
LANDR Blueprints is currently in closed beta, with access beginning in February 2026, while LANDR Layers is currently available as a public beta. Both tools will be available as part of the LANDR Studio subscription.
