Following their acquisition of Orb Plugins, an acclaimed software company known for their innovative assistive composition software, LANDR have announced the launch a new AI-powered tool capable of generating chord progressions, basslines, melodies and harmonies. Now known as Composer, the plug-in offers a new and enhanced version of Orb Producer Pro, and is said to bring the best of Orb’s powerful assistive algorithms into the LANDR ecosystem.
The new tool, which is available both as an individual purchase or as part of select LANDR subscription packages, has been designed for creators of all skill levels and aims to keep users focused on creativity rather than technical barriers. Individual chords or progressions can be generated instantly, offering a starting point for new ideas or helping to enhance existing work, and MIDI can be dragged and dropped into the host DAW’s piano roll for further editing and customisation.
New Features
LANDR have extended the capabilities of the already capable Orb Producer Pro with the following enhancements:
- Assistive Chord Generation: Automatically create and tweak complex chord progressions and individual chords.
- Assistive MIDI Generation: Generate unique chord, bassline, melody and arpeggio performances.
- Scenes and Song Modes: Organise and arrange multiple musical ideas into a full composition.
- Chord Progression Guide: Edit, move and refine chords to perfect harmonic sequences.
- Preset Sounds and MIDI Editing: Use the built-in synthesizer to generate sounds and edit MIDI with a piano roll for precise control.
- Performance Modifiers: Using simple controls, you can easily modify musical elements of MIDI-generated patterns such as polyphony and humanisation.
- Drag-and-Drop Integration: Easily drag MIDI patterns into your DAW.

Compatibility
Composer is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or higher, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
