Bricasti Model 10

Remote control for M7
Bricasti have released a remote control for their M7 stereo reverb processor, which we reviewed back in SOS February 2008 (on-line here).

It’s called the Model 10, and is capable of controlling up to eight M7 processors. The remote connects to host units using RS422 serial cables, which apparently have no practical distance restrictions and carry power for the unit, except if the cable run is over 30 metres, when a dedicated power supply is recommended.

The Model 10 removes the need for the user to move to an equipment rack to change settings, and therefore enables them to alter parameters while remaining in the optimum listening position. The remote features a large rotary controller that lets the user scroll through settings, as well as a range of buttons that mirror those on the front panel of the rackmount module.

The screen is in two parts: the lower dual-line display shows the same information as found on the screen on the front of the processor, while the topmost array of LED bargraph meters displays signal information for each connected reverb processor, in two banks of four.
