Music-computer builders Carillon have announced a special deal on one of their new tower-format computers, the Tower Core X. This monster of a system is built into a low-noise Fractal Design case, and has at its heart a “workstation-class” Tyan motherboard. A whopping 12GB of DDR3 RAM comes pre-fitted (though the motherboard can accept as much as 96GB!), while not one, but two Intel Xeon Westmere X5640 processors handle the number-crunching. These six-core beasts all offer hyperthreading, which means that a total of 24 threads are available for processing.
Normally, this behemoth costs £3698, but for the month of November it can be had for just £2998 — a saving of £700! For more information, call +44 (0)8455 194530, or check out the Carillon web site, below.
