Carry on Carillon!

PC brand relaunched

The idea of a ‘legendary’ audio PC manufacturer might seem absurd to some of our older readers, but if any of the studio PC brands can lay claim to such status, it’s Carillon. First launched in 2000, the distinctive AC1 case has graced many a home and professional studio, and now looks set to continue doing so, the brand having recently been resurrected as Carillon Audio Systems.Carillon AC1

The original Carillon PCs garnered a reputation for their stability and high performance, due to being built specifically for studio applications, and the revitalised company aim to carry on in the same vein, providing a range of computers that have all been built using “only the most trusted and reliable components”, with each system being subjected to a 24-hour stress test before shipping.

Pricing for the new Carillon range starts at £699 for an entry-level system, with the top-end PC costing £3500, containing a monstrous six processor cores (each running at 3.33GHz), and boasting a frankly gluttonous 24GB of RAM.

What’s more, Carillon say they’re offering free email support and an “advisory service”, which includes upgrade packages for owners of pre‑rennaissance Carillon PCs.
