Carl Tatz Design unveil PFM HD & UHD-1000 Mk II monitors

Updated crossover and internal cabinet design

Carl Tatz Design PFM UHD-1000 HD-1000 MkII passive studio monitor

Carl Tatz Design have announced the release of the PFM HD-1000 MkII and PFM UHD-1000 Mk II, updated versions of both models in their acclaimed PhantomFocus professional monitor line-up. Employing a new crossover design and introducing some construction changes, each of the new models are said to boast improved imaging and articulation.

The passive crossover used in the PFM HD-1000 MkII has been replaced with a new design, and the company have also made some refinements to the cabinet’s internal construction. As with its predecessor, the PFM UHD-1000 MkII utilises the company’s PhantomFocus processor for crossover duties, but still benefits from the changes made to the cabinet architecture. Carl Tatz Design say that the design changes lead to each monitor sounding more open in the vocal range, as well as offering an even tighter low-mid performance.

"We're always trying to refine all that we do and since we now have a new PhantomFocus MixRoom lab, we have been able to test some ideas that I've wanted to try and the results are the new Mk II iterations." - Carl Tatz
