FiiO announce SP5 monitors

First pro-audio release from renowned hi-fi brand

FiiO SP5 compact affordable nearfield studio monitors

Hi-fi experts FiiO have announced the upcoming launch of the SP5, a new active nearfield monitor that marks their first foray into the world of pro audio. Described as a “bold new chapter in desktop and nearfield listening precision”, the latest addition to the company’s range is said to benefit from meticulous acoustic design, and promises to redefine the expectations of powered speakers at their price point.

The SP5 pairs a 5.25-inch Rohacell-cone low-frequency driver with a one-inch silk-dome tweeter, a combination which the company say results in a refined and detailed full-range performance. The Rohacell used in the driver is the same material employed by FiiO’s (and other manufacturers’) high-end speakers, and is said to help the system deliver ultra-low distortion figures with a tight and responsive-sounding low end. The rear of the SP5’s cabinet features a trio of switches that can be used to engage high- and low-frequency shelf EQs to tailor the system’s response to the user’s room.

Both analogue and digital input options are provided, with balanced and unbalanced line-level sources catered for by XLR, TRS (quarter-inch and 3.5mm) and RCA connectors, while digital audio is accepted via USB. The SP5 also offers full support for high-definition Bluetooth codecs, including LDAC and aptX Adaptive, allowing for lossless wireless streaming with minimal latency. Helpfully, users are able to set and store levels for each input and have them automatically recalled when an input is selected.

Pricing & Availability

The SP5 will be available in September 2025, priced at $749£709 including VAT.
