New expansion pack for BFD
UK-based software developer FXpansion have unveiled a new add-on pack for their BFD sample-based virtual drum instrument. Big Orchestral Marching Band (or BOMB, as they’re calling it), is a fitting title: it’s big, weighing in at no less than 38GB. Unsurprisingly, its content includes orchestral marching band instruments.
Included in the library are sample sets of timpani, ‘quads’ (which are the toms usually worn around the waist), orchestral chimes, bass drums, snares and cymbals, all of which are played with different types of beater.
Also included is a ‘groove suite’, which contains drum corps-style performances, as well as hip-hop grooves and ‘street beats’, which can be dragged and dropped into your host sequencer.
Big Orchestral Marching Band is compatible with the latest version of BFD, version two, but also runs with v1.5.
