Legendary producer Gary Katz is coming to London for a unique Q&A session, hosted by the London Song Company and sponsored by Sound On Sound. At the Bloomsbury Theatre on March 22nd, you’ll have the opportunity to put your questions to one of the most important figures in modern record production.
Gary Katz is perhaps most closely associated with the music of Steely Dan, but he has also produced the likes of Diana Ross, 10cc and Joe Cocker. As a producer and A&R for Warner Brothers Records, he also played a key role in developing new artists, signing Prince and Dire Straits, among others. He will be appearing in conversation with Julian Marshall, LSC’s creative director and half of the duo Eye To Eye. Following the Q&A session, there will be a chance for six songwriters or producers to present a piece of their work to Gary for his individual feedback for an additional cost of £85 (£55 for LSC alumni).
Tickets to the event are £15. Once you’ve booked, you can send a question for consideration or apply to present your song or production work by emailing inspiration@londonsongcompany.com. You’ll be notified before the event if your track has been selected or your question chosen for Gary to answer. For tickets, go to www.thebloomsbury.com or call the box office on +44 (0)20 7388 8822.
