Playback winners press their debut album for free
Top dogs in our Playback round-up of demo reviews from July this year, The Get Up, have released their debut album Life @ Cafe Eric — with a little help from the column's sponsor Breed Media.
The band's Mark Ashfield enthuses: "We took delivery of those CDs a few weeks back, and we're delighted with the result. Just as noteworthy as the finished product is the incredible service we've had from Tom at Breed.
"Sales have been strong at gigs and via our web site so far, aided by a few radio plays on BBC 6 Music, and it's so nice to be able to offer a truly professional product as opposed to unreliable and amateur-looking CD-Rs.
