GForce introduce M-Tron Pro IV

Popular Mellotron emulation gets major overhaul

GForce M-Tron Pro IV software Mellotron emulation virtual instrument

GForce have today announced the release of M-Tron Pro IV, the fourth iteration of their acclaimed Mellotron emulation. Boasting a redesigned interface along with an extensive 3.5GB sound library which offers over 200 tape banks and more than 800 presets, the instrument promises to deliver a wealth of sonic options as well as providing users with effortless and efficient operation and customisation options.

A range of new features have been introduced in the latest version, many of which focus on improved user experience. New dedicated Preset and Tape browsers offer enhanced navigation of the instrument’s extensive collection of sounds, and newly added Undo, Redo, Copy and Paste functions help users to stay on track whilst editing and experimenting with new patches.

GForce have also implemented some new features which intent to improve how M-Tron Pro IV plays and sounds. New Tape Wow and Flutter features capture the imperfections that helped to give the original Mellotron its charm, whilst some additional warmth and character is offered by newly introduced built-in amp simulation facilities. An alternative state-variable filter and additional ensemble effect have also been included, and yet more depth can be added to sounds thanks to new LFO shaping possibilities and a matrix reverb.

Additionally, the instrument’s polyphonic aftertouch and velocity controls have been expanded, and the keyboard range has also been extended further down by an extra seven semitones.

GForce are also offering the instrument as part of the M-Tron Pro IV Complete bundle, providing users with the instrument itself along with every Expansion Pack. Totalling 11.3GB of content, the bundle comes packed with over 500 tape banks, and a huge collection of over 3500 presets.

M-Tron Pro IV is supported on both macOS and Windows-based systems, and is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats.
