Gothic Instruments release Dronar Dark Synthesis

New instrument offers instant tension, darkness and mystery

Gothic Instruments have today introduced Dronar Dark Synthesis, the fourth module in their successful series of Kontakt sound design tools.

Dronar Dark Synthesis looks well suited for Retro Electro/Synthwave musical styles, offering an abundance of  complex cinematic sound design layers for you to sculpt and shape. These dark and eerie synthetic textures have been created by combining strange synth waveforms with complex processed real world recordings crafted by sound designer and synthesis enthusiast Adam Pietruszko and Hollywood movie trailer Sound Designer Alessandro Camnasio.

Dronar works by automatically spreading out a chord in the mid-range, adding a root bass note, a high note and then adding evolving sound effects. Eight simultaneous, different sounds are then animated with LFOs, a rhythm sequencer and arpeggiators to bring them to life for a result that its makers call "rich and dramatic".

By putting so much sound under a single hand, this invites your spare hand to expressively control the dials and record the changes as a performance in your DAW.  Whilst hugely flexible and suited for a variety of audio projects, Dronar Dark Synthesis is really aimed at the making of cinematic soundtracks that require a dark, synthetic and twisted mood — from horror and sci-fi to action and drama.

Its uses also extend to electronic music production, where the pads, textures and drones could certainly be suitable for intros, breakdowns and backing layers.

Dronar Dark Synthesis is available to buy now at the special introductory price of £47.96 until 27th June (normally £59.95). Existing Dronar users can combine their 20% loyalty discount code with the intro offer to save 40%!
