INA GRM’s recently released sound-design instrument has just received its first major update, which among other things, introduces official support for Windows 10 and 11.
Released in October 2025 for macOS, GRM Tools Atelier is a virtual instrument aimed at sound designers, composers and ‘tinkerers’. It is a modular environment for generating and processing sound, and has been designed to encourage an exploratory approach to sound design, rewarding “creative misuse and serendipity”.
What’s New?
The headline feature of the update is the promised Windows support, but the company have also taken the opportunity to introduce some new features and functions, too. Here’s an overview of what’s included in v1.0.2.

- Improved cursor display.
- Polyadic toggle buttons for all modulators.
- Plus many other improvements and corrections.
Compatibility
Atelier v1.0.2 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.
