The latest addition to IK Multimedia’s ever-growing plug-in collection delivers some modulation effects inspired by a popular 80s rackmount unit. Available as a standalone plug-in or as part of the company’s T-Racks 6 MAX bundle, T-Racks Triad Chorus features three independent voices and is said to be the ideal solution for breathing some life into guitars, synths, vocals and more.
As the name of the plug-in implies, there are three chorus voices, each equipped with Amount, Rate, Phase and Pan parameters, along with a BPM Sync button. With its stereo input mode engaged, the left channel is routed to Voice 1 and the right channel to Voice 3, while Voice 2 received a mono sum of the input signal. As a result, users are able to dial in a huge range of effects and benefit from more in-depth control than is offered by many alternative processors. A display in the centre of the GUI displays the three LFOs, offering a visual representation of their amplitude, rate and phase relationships.
The top of the GUI then provides some global controls such as input and output gain (both ±15dB), along with a toggle switch for selecting either mono or stereo operation and a pair of VU-style level meters. There’s also a Feedback control, which routes the processed output signal back through the plug-in to create deeper, more dramatic modulation effects.
Compatibility
Triad Chorus is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
Pricing & Availability
Triad Chorus is available now, priced at $€99.99. It is also included in T-Racks 6 MAX, and existing users can access the new plug-in by updating their software via the company’s IK Product Manager.
