JHS's popular and rapidly expanding Vintage range gains an ever-so-fashionable parlour-sized acoustic this month — the V880N.
As the company's press release quite rightly says, "Parlour guitars offer a sweet-toned, almost compressed sound from their more diminutive body dimensions, which invariably comes over in a beautifully balanced tone with an almost recording-like quality," which goes a long way to explaining their increasing popularity. Other reasons include the fact that they are small and easy to carry around.
The V880N has a solid-cedar top matched to mahogany back and sides, "giving a balanced and even, full-toned and slightly darker-tinged sound that's very pleasing to the ear at room volume", JHS say.
It also features traditional golden herringbone work on the soundhole rosette and binding, and amber-buttoned, rear-facing, gold-plated machine heads on the classical-style slotted headstock.
You might be expecting a whopping price but no, in true Vintage tradition, the V880N has an RRP of just £149.
